Whats up everyone!
Alright you guys should have known I was going to blog immediately after this game 2 loss the Heat just suffered. So again I wonder why does Lebron always give the ball up in crunch time situations, and on top of that how did Wade and Lebron miss crucial free throws? Ok so the box score is the most interesting point (and the fact that the Heat didn't score one point after the 2:30 mark in the 4th quarter) I am going to talk about other than the fact that Lebron continuously shows me why Kobe is better...Lebron had 28 point and Wade had 24....where the heck is the rest of the team??? The next person was Battier and Chambers with 5 points each. If you look at the Pacers box score it is evenly divided, nobody on their team even scored 20 points, the highest was West with 16 points and oh not to mention 10 rebounds also. Not only that but the Heat were 1/16 behind the arc and those are missed opportunities which in my opinion you live by the three...you die by the three! Moving along I want to say this Danny Granger needs to stop trying to fight Lebron all the time, but at the same time Lebron has got to stand up for him self and stop shying away from that type of intensity. Fall back Granger at the end of the day to Lebron's defense you aren't better nor bigger than him! Oh so now I want to get on this Lebron passing up the second to last shot opportunity. Knowing what I know about basketball it looked like they had a 1-4 spread and that means there is one person at the top of the key which was Lebron. In that situation normally you are in an isolation situation where you can create a shot or take it to the rim. As always Lebron passed to Wade and Wade created a layup situation that he normally makes but it just didn't go in (and it didnt go in because he second guessed him self and switched from the left hand to using his right hand on the left side of the basket). I just feel like if that were Kobe in that situation he would have taken that opportunity and ran with it. But this isn't about Kobe so to Lebron's defense again I will say he still has to get to a point in which he is more confident in himself in crunch time situations. At the end of the day if I could tell him one thing it would be that people are gonna crucify you whether you take the last shot and miss it or if you pass the last shot just like you normally do. He has to accept that and keep it moving in my opinion. I didn't think I would say this but Bosh was really missed tonight...the Heat is lacking a post man to grab rebounds and clean up around the basket. Joel Anthony was like 0-5 and Udonnis Haslem had 4 points and 4 rebounds which in my opinion he has been missing in action throughout the playoffs thus far. Someone else on the Heat has to step up but more importantly Wade and Lebron have to create more opportunities for their teammates too. Lastly can anyone explain to me why in the world does Coach Spo insist on not playing Juwan Howard and James Jones??? I always say Jones comes off the bench scoring its just he doesn't really get the opportunity and Howard is pretty productive on the boards of course not as effective as Bosh but he has potential. Ohhh and finally Frank Vogel is really getting under my skin like Mark Cuban always does. Everyone knew I was gonna get on him about his pre series rant. Quit smiling it ain't over buddy. That's all I'm going to say. It ain't over Frank by a long shot! Next game I will step out and say you best believe that it is on and the Heat will come out better prepared and they will get the game 3 victory. As always I will leave off with a little bit of advice and I guess tonight's will be never give up, you never know what blessing is just around the corner for you! Until next time!

Wrapping up Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs
As the first round comes to an end its time to start thinking about the different matchups to come in the second round, of course not until the two first round game 7's are out of the way. But first I want to start off this blog with saying LeBron was crowned as MVP of the league for the third time in the last four years. Do I agree with him being crowned MVP again...um probably not (even though I am a Heat fan). I felt as though Kevin Durrant throughout alot of the season was overshadowed by his at times overly ambitious point guard Russell Westbrook. But hey I was watching ESPN last night and an interesting fact that came up by Chris Brussard was that some of the other players (Wilt Chamberlin and Moses Malone) got their first championship after winning their third MVP. So we will certainly see what Lebron does throughout the duration of the playoffs. But CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY. Now on to what I said the other night. Of course everyone witnessed me say the game of Thursday night would be the Lake Show/Nuggets and wow is all I can say. That was a complete BUST! It was a blow out from the time I sat down after getting off work until the time I went to bed because of course I had to go to work at 6 am the next morning. The ending score of that game was 96-113 Nuggets, again I will say from the time I sat down to watch until the time I fell asleep, the Nuggets pushed the ball in transition and more importantly they out hustled the Lakers. Oh and not to mention Ty Lawson was a major burst of energy with his 32 point night and you know I am going to throw it in there that Kobe was dealing with a stomach bug. BUT....and I do mean BUT....Ron Artest more commonly known as Metta World Peace will be welcomed back with open arms at Staples Arena for game 7. That is the big factor in this final game of their first round series. I wont get into all the statistics but I will say this in game 7's the Lakers have won 10 straight at home. That is a major key to remember and as always homecourt advantage could really dictate the momentum down the stretch. So I will go on the record and say, my pick to win is the Lakers but more importantly the big men have to show up this game Jordan Hill, Andrew Bynum, and of course Pau Gasol. Maybe Gasol should watch is brother Marc and see how its done! That man can play that post for the Grizzles! I just had to throw that in there. But we will first see how this game turns out tonight and in my next blog I will begin talking about the wonderful matchups of the second round! There will be some very exciting matchups to come and everyone knows I love great yet intense basketball. So I will be blogging again after the Lakers/Nuggets game 7 tonight on ESPN at 10:30 ET. Make sure you watch it!!! As always I will leave you all with a little bit of advice..."Don't live your life according to what everyone else says or thinks is right; live your life according to your hopes, dreams, and aspirations. No one else can march to the beat of your drum (your heart). Only you can." I cant wait to see the game tonight, oh and I have to say the first game of the second round is tonight as the Celtics will take on the rejuvenated 76'ers. Be sure to tune into both starting at 8 pm on ESPN. Talk with you later!!

Catching up and the NBA Playoffs!
I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh it has been incrediblely too long since I posted a blog! So there is so much to say. Of course my job at home depot has such crazy hours so alot of times I am asleep whenever I am not working but now they have cut my hours which I'm going to think of in a positive way, that means I can write and work on my portfolio so I can get out of this place. So what's new with me you ask?? oooh first of all I just want to say CONGRATS TO THE CLASS OF 2012...DON'T LISTEN TO ALL THE NEGATIVITY THAT COMES WITH GRADUATION. IF YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO IT AND BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, HE WILL HAVE YOUR BACK AND WHAT IS MEANT FOR YOU, YOU WILL HAVE IT! ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT:-)
Now I will talk about my FAVORITE time of the year...yes the NBA PLAYOFFS! Thus far we have the Heat (one of my faves other than the Lake Show), the Thunder, the Pacers, and the Spurs going to the second round. Tonight Rondo and the fierce Celtics will try to close out the Hawks in Boston, the Rose-less Bulls will attempt to stay alive in hopes of forcing a game seven on their home court against the 76ers, and of course Kobe, despite a dominant 43-point game five loss, will pull out his best to lead the Lake Show past the Nuggets in the mile-high city tonight. If I had to pick a spotlight game it would definitely be the Lakers vs. Nuggets. Although I would love to see the Hawks go home empty handed thanks to the Celtics, and it will be interesting to see if the Bulls can escape elimination by the 76ers without their hero Derrick Rose, I will have to still say the Lakers/Nuggets game will be the most attention-grabbing game 6 to watch tonight. Of course the Lakers should feel upset yet fueled after their 102-99 game 5 loss, because now instead of preparing to face the scorching hot Thunder in the second round of the playoffs, they have to return to the mile-high city and fight to move past the determined Nuggets. JaVale McGee has really shown up during this playoff series. I don't watch alot of Nuggets basketball during the regular season but to see him and the Nuggets play right now, I must say I am impressed. They have heart! I also think in that series youth plays a huge and major role down the stretch. Key players like Ty Lawson, Aaron Afflalo, Danilo Gallinari, and of course JaVale McGee really have made this matchup worth watching. Although I love the Lake Show I will take the younger more rejuvenated Denver Nuggets over the Lakers in a close yet electrifying affair tonight! Be sure to tune in at 10:30pm on TNT. Be sure to read my blog tomorrow because I plan to talk and discuss all the games tonight and their results (oh and give my personal opinions). As always it was great getting a chance to sit town and write for you today! I look forward to writing and chatting much more! My quote for today is, "find a job you love and you will NEVER work a day in your life." And I must say I love to write and work on anything media related:-)

Mr. Don Cornelius...RIP
Hi Loves!!
Smooth, Sensual, Deep, Classic, Iconic...Don Cornelius. Of course everyone now knows the great pioneer and innovator of musical TV personalities has indeed been declared dead after committing suicide. This is such sad news on many different levels in my opinion. I am a Media enthusiast and future TV personality myself so this news not only shocked me but it touched my heart. Don Cornelius paved the way for so many African American TV personalities such as Terrence and Rocsi on 106 N Park and he was one of the first to have a show in my opinion totally dedicated to giving African Americans the opportunity to express themselves through dance and music. Providing a weekly escape from the poverty and harsh enviorments surrounding African Americans was what Soul Train succeeded in doing. Not only that but he helped to break the racial barrier in music. At the time of Soul Trains beginning in 1970, the main show for music and entertainment was American Bandstand with the famous Mr. Dick Clark. Now going down memory lane Mr. Cornelius pretty much started out like any of us mass media students would, a dollar and a dream. That very dream became the reason why it became ok for African Americans to have a reason to celebrate and dance every week. My own mother always tells me stories of how she and her other at the time three sisters used to watch Soul Train in order to learn new dance moves, then they would practice them all week (of course this came after they would record the song they were dancing to off the radio onto a cassette tape haha), and you best to believe on Friday and Saturday night they were headed to somebodys club to put those moves to the test in the middle of the dance floor. Mr. Cornelius touched not just the lives of those who were like my mother at home watching but if you were asked to come on as an artist especially if you were a new artist...YOU MADE IT! Artists such as Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Ike and Tina Turner, and even Snoop Dogg made guest artist appearances on the show. The very sad thing is he is such a great and prominent part of Black History and of course this is Black History month and we will begin this month with the death of a pioneer. In closing this small tribute about the iconic Mr. Don Cornelius I just want to tell others no matter what you are going though in life NOTHING is too big for God to handle. He is there every step of the way, and when we leave him behind is when we often times feel like life begins to be too much. I don't know whether someone reached out to Mr. Cornelius before he took his life, but for anyone reading who feels like their life isn't important, trust me Jesus thinks otherwise. Give him a try! His voice was sensual like none other, smooth as silk, deep as the very bottom of the ocean, cool as the breeze running through my hair as I am sitting outside typing, yet classic and iconic as a Cadillac car or truck, Mr. Cornelius you will be deeply missed but I want to say thank you for all you did in your 75 years here on this earth! This month after every blog I will include a Black History Month fact from blackfact.com...and the fact of today is: February 2, 1862 the District of Columbia ( Washington DC) abolished slavery. As usual let me hear what you think my loves:-)
Signing Off wishing you LOVE, PEACE, AND SOULLLL!!...-BP

Grad School Mania...I want to go to UF!!!
Hi loves!!!
I know it has been a week since I last blogged but so much has been going on this week from me finding a part time job to my mom being very sick oh and then I got sick lol. But guess what! Im back and all is well. So today I decided to blog about something that has been heavy on my mind...GRAD SCHOOL! I have been looking at plenty of different schools including Florida State University, University of Florida, Michigan State University, and San Diego State University and so far my favorite is of course the University of Florida. This has been my dream school for quite some time and I would LOVE to be a gator! Not to mention they have a state of the art and nationally ranked Masters program in Mass Communications and everyone that knows me knows I am a nerd for Mass Media! Now I know some of you are probably wondering, well why wouldnt you go to the same school you went to for undergrad for your masters. UmHECK NOOOO, i meant no thank you lol....with my growth as a person I think it is time for bigger and better things and I truly feel like the University of Florida has my best interests at heart when it comes to that much. I have looked over their program and I am thoroughly impressed, thoroughly! It has been said recently, grad school doesnt give you much more of a positive chance for promotions in jobs and it doesnt necessarily give you that much of an upper hand in getting a job in the first place. I just think it would be a great opportunity and I am a big stickler for learning all you can in life, and I dont believe for one moment that I learned all I could from my previous school, I probably didnt even learn half of what I should have. I think UF would really get me on the right track as far as with Mass Communications in order for me to get into the great career I am so ambitious for. My only and I do mean only concern is how in the world to pay for a masters degree?? I am already in (unnecessary debt) from my previous school which I still am not happy with (but its life), but I really would love to go back to school and I really would like to go back in the fall. So my question to everyone who reads this, is it possible for me to go back to school, preferably the University of Florida, to obtain my masters for a minimal cost?? My quote for you today is dont ever let anyone tell you something is not for you, because if God has it for you and you are aligned with Him and His word anything is possible. Talk with you later my loves!!! BE AMBITIOUS in all things:-)

Kobe's loss...Vanessa's gain??
So im sure everyone now knows that NBA star Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa has said she has had enough. After filing for divorce it is reported she will get 75 million as well as 3 mansion totaling her divorce settlement to about 150 million dollars. Now why am I writing about this?? I so happened to be reading plenty of different men's or maybe I should say boy's points of view on this situation on facebook and the most frustrating thing is instead of trying to be empathetic with Vanessa and trying to see things from her point of view, they are quick to yell "he should have gotten a pre-nup," or better yet "dudes better learn from kobes mistake!" Ok so kobe didnt cheat on his wife??? Uh yes he did...AGAIN! Now I love to watch Kobe play and yes he is the BEST player in the league! Yes I did say that but no this does not give him a pass to do whatever he wants to do. By no means...I think instead of telling others to get a prenup guys should become much more conscious of the things they do and how they not only affect themselves but the people around them also! Now of course there are those guys who feel like Vanessa could have cheated also (and she might have, can you blame her??) but as far as I have read this woman has been there with Kobe by his side even though the bad situation with the rape back in 2003 and yet Kobe has the nerve to keep cheating and guys actually want to say he should have gotten a prenup?? Are you kidding me! He should have kept it in his pants!! It has always been said that Kobe is striving to be more and more like Jordan, well it seems that you succeeded with this one Kobe. I truly think its a shame that men are not thankful, faithful, and humble about being married when they become famous especially if she has stood by them through thick and thin. Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade is the same way, oh not to mention he has the nerve to be flaunting Gabrielle Union as if that is going to last. Lol. Get a clue guys these women only and I mean only want your money!!! And everything that is done in the dark WILL come to light. That is what I will leave you with today as a quote/ bit of advice...ponder on that. Let me hear your thoughts!

Brita's First Blog!
Hi world!
I probably should have started this right after I walked across the stage or even before, but I am a firm believer of the saying its never too late in life to try something new! Well I am finally a college graduate and honestly I cant say im completely enjoying it. I was so ready to get my diploma and now all I can say is NOW WHAT! lol. I have been enjoying my time with my mother who is asleep right now on the kitchen table lol but I must say post college life is quite BORING...I have been told numerous amounts of time to stay patient and things will work out but for those who may not know me very well, I am far from patient. This is just my opening blog and trust me there will be alot more where this came from! In my next blog I go over everything about me including where I am from, where I went to school, and oh if I am in any type of relationship! lol, until next time stay blessed:-)
