Wrapping up Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs

As the first round comes to an end its time to start thinking about the different matchups to come in the second round, of course not until the two first round game 7's are out of the way. But first I want to start off this blog with saying LeBron was crowned as MVP of the league for the third time in the last four years. Do I agree with him being crowned MVP again...um probably not (even though I am a Heat fan). I felt as though Kevin Durrant throughout alot of the season was overshadowed by his at times overly ambitious point guard Russell Westbrook. But hey I was watching ESPN last night and an interesting fact that came up by Chris Brussard was that some of the other players (Wilt Chamberlin and Moses Malone) got their first championship after winning their third MVP. So we will certainly see what Lebron does throughout the duration of the playoffs. But CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY. Now on to what I said the other night. Of course everyone witnessed me say the game of Thursday night would be the Lake Show/Nuggets and wow is all I can say. That was a complete BUST! It was a blow out from the time I sat down after getting off work until the time I went to bed because of course I had to go to work at 6 am the next morning. The ending score of that game was 96-113 Nuggets, again I will say from the time I sat down to watch until the time I fell asleep, the Nuggets pushed the ball in transition and more importantly they out hustled the Lakers. Oh and not to mention Ty Lawson was a major burst of energy with his 32 point night and you know I am going to throw it in there that Kobe was dealing with a stomach bug. BUT....and I do mean BUT....Ron Artest more commonly known as Metta World Peace  will be welcomed back with open arms at Staples Arena for game 7. That is the big factor in this final game of their first round series. I wont get into all the statistics but I will say this in game 7's the Lakers have won 10 straight at home. That is a major key to remember and as always homecourt advantage could really dictate the momentum down the stretch. So I will go on the record and say, my pick to win is the Lakers but more importantly the big men have to show up this game Jordan Hill, Andrew Bynum, and of course Pau Gasol. Maybe Gasol should watch is brother Marc and see how its done! That man can play that post for the Grizzles! I just had to throw that in there. But we will first see how this game turns out tonight and in my next blog I will begin talking about the wonderful matchups of the second round! There will be some very exciting matchups to come and everyone knows I love great yet intense basketball. So I will be blogging again after the Lakers/Nuggets game 7 tonight on ESPN at 10:30 ET. Make sure you watch it!!! As always I will leave you all with a little bit of advice..."Don't live your life according to what everyone else says or thinks is right; live your life according to your hopes, dreams, and aspirations. No one else can march to the beat of your drum (your heart). Only you can." I cant wait to see the game tonight, oh and I have to say the first game of the second round is tonight as the Celtics will take on the rejuvenated 76'ers. Be sure to tune into both starting at 8 pm on ESPN. Talk with you later!!

Much Love -BP
